Dancing fairy tale for kids
POMISLITE NA NAS!
Fifth dance fairy tale for children.
Fear is the body's innate response to impending danger. Animals are afraid of thunder, and bursting firecrackers cause great fear and stress. Due to the shock of the bang, animals can become seriously ill or run away into the unknown. With the fairy tale, we want to draw attention to the suffering of animals due to human use of pyrotechnics and thus spread awareness of coexistence between humans and animals.
Story:
A puppy and a kitten live the contented life of urban domestic animals. One day they are woken up by loud popping and whistling. They get very scared and run into the forest, where they meet the long-eared Uhko and Pika who help them survive in an unknown forest and restore their trust in people.
Part of the proceeds from the sold tickets are allocated to the Shelter for Abandoned Animals for the purchase of food and equipment.

KNJIGA
"Ten books that became my inspiration and guide for the choreography, and the connecting text that intertwines my story with the stories of the books. I read them again and again and discovered new meanings in them. At the same time, they were a reminder to me of who I am and where I am going. In the performace, I intertwine my passions for four arts: dance, music, literature and painting, and in between, a video story is interwoven in parallel, reflecting what cannot be said with any other language.
The past overlaps with the present, the old is replaced by the new, the real becomes unreal, and I am caught in moments that reflect my life and the path of searching and creating, approaching and moving away, awareness and concealment... one body, two bodies, several bodies - they become a book, a character, space, time, feeling, a word. All my childhood fears are dispelled and I am looking everywhere for the beauty of life, of the moment, of being."
One-hour show (lyrical jazz) with multimedia and light stage effects.
"And the book became a dance..."
Dance movie
Življenje je vrednota - The movie
The COVID pandemic has spread globally and has hit us artists and performers all over the world hard, How to survive, how to continue doing what we love so much? A new group of people was formed, in memory of the past and a reminder of the future, with the aim of leaving something to future generations and carrying the eternal memory with us.
Life is a value - The movie allows viewers to see our story and the story of many around the world. The film can be subtitled or dubbed and is available for viewing in screening rooms as well as on online platforms for rental or purchase. We also equipped the film with interpretation for deaf viewers. We are proud of this project as it has encouraged us through difficult times.
Dancing fairy tale for kids
Objemi drevo!
The fourth and our most successful dance fairy tale for children so far.
We live in a world where many people need help. If we help, we enrich ourselves and make new friends. Cooperation and compassion show that we care about others.
Story:
A hedgehog, an ant, a bee and fireflies live in the forest on the edge of the city. They cook, play, build together. Sometimes they encounter problems, but they are easily solved, because the rule applies - we don't let anyone down!

Življenje je vrednota
In the period between October 2016 and May 2017, we created a multimedia theatrical dance performance "Life is a value", with which we collected funds, which we allocated to the foundation "Little knight", a Slovenian foundation that helps young cancer survivors.
This performance is the reason why we decided to formally establish Katja Dance Company on January 1, 2017.
Through movement and music, the dance performance urges us to think about life, illness, love and suffering, but always find the way to the light, appreciate the moments and be aware of life as a universal gift.
"I breathe and live dance, merge with music, tell a story with movements, create moments that I feel as that part of me that floats. My story becomes the story of many and my feelings touch the souls of others. We are looking for answers and a solution for those who cannot do it alone." (Katja Vidmar)

Project X
After the extraordinary success of our work and after a meeting with the President of the Republic of Slovenia, in 2018 we created a new dance performance "Project X" - a story about a polluted and depleted planet that provided safe shelter, food and clean air to only a "chosen" 1% of Earthlings, the rest but they are forced to become ecological migrants in search of that "better" world. A world in which trust, coexistence and survival become enemies.
A tree that is rotting...the stench in the cities that is becoming unbearable...the parched land that can no longer produce food...the dirty seas filled with plastic dumped by man!
Life on Earth is a gift we must earn!
Will we miss in time? Before the plastic straw disintegrates after hundreds of years? Will my child be able to breathe without a mask and not have to drink water from a bottle, but will he be able to open the tap, take water from a well, river, lake?

Na pomoč!
We love creating for children. Our fairy tales reach more and more children from poorer social and financial backgrounds. We began to cooperate with other young people and organizations, such as Rotaract, and thus successfully carry out our charity work, helping children and families and "putting" a smile on the faces of children and their parents and foster carers.
An educational and entertaining dance fairy tale for the youngest about cheerful and happy sea animals whose peaceful lives are suddenly destroyed by garbage.

Moj svet je drugačen!
We are also very active in the production of dance fairy tales for children. With the help of dance, we tell stories with an educational note and spread awareness about values and ethics.
The dance fairy tale "Our world is different" is about difference, rejection, connection and friendship.
The performance was intended to collect aid for children from socially disadvantaged families.
It's nice when we can put a smile on a child's face.

Ženska
In 2008, our founder Katja Vidmar choreographed and danced in the play "Woman" under the honorary patronage of Mrs. Vlasta Nussdorfer - the human rights ombudsman of the Republic of Slovenia.
With the awareness that there are also less fortunate women among us, all funds collected from the sale of tickets were allocated to "safe houses", i.e. women who had to find a safe haven due to domestic violence.
The performance represents the first foundations of the emerging dance group and includes such a recognizable combination of narrative dance and storytelling through video and spoken text.
"I want to tell women that they are worthy of respect, that their lives have meaning, they just need to find strength within themselves. Any violence in any form is unacceptable."
