The show Why Me travels to Škocjan this time

We have had an interesting collaboration with the Association Let's Get to Know Multiple Sclerosis from the very beginning. The president of the association, Renata Žohar, had little idea about organizing theatrical dance performances. Otherwise very precise and caring, one could almost say analytical, Renata, together with Tadeja Polanšček and her husband, stepped into the world of art, where with the performance Why Me, the viewer is taken into the minds of those suffering from this disease and tries to provide them with information about living with this disease. Renata also has MS, but this does not prevent her from living an active and full life. Moreover, she has activated her friends, members of the association, to seek the possibility of hosting the performance in their own places. And this time, Avgust Pavc and Darja Perše are responsible for this, as we will perform at the newly opened Cultural Center Škocjan on Saturday, March 28 at 8 p.m. We would like to thank all the supporters who will make this performance possible, as we will also add this stage to our map of performances.

Renata is now a true expert in organizing such an event. But since it is such a personal and special performance that realizes the vision of the association - to cooperate with experts in the field of multiple sclerosis, to raise awareness of multiple sclerosis and their relatives, and to cooperate with other associations and humanitarian organizations, the performance is certainly something that enriches her and her loved ones' lives. At the same time, the Katja Dance Company team is donating the proceeds to this association so that it can fully fulfill its vision in the future.

"The municipality of Škocjan is one of the smaller Slovenian municipalities in terms of its area, but it is nevertheless interesting and attractive in every respect. The rolling hills with vineyards and valleys at the junction of the Krško hills and the Krško plain, babbling streams, botanical specialties, playful forest edges and picturesque villages all the way to the banks of the Krka River are pleasant to the eye, and at the same time offer numerous opportunities for active leisure activities.

The softness of the Dolenjska landscape and the homeliness of rural villages create unique images in all seasons. Colorful meadows and flowering trees in spring, the waving of golden wheat grains and the smell of fragrant hay in summer, ripening fruit and the joy of harvesting crops in autumn seem like images of long ago. But when cold northern winds sweep across the valleys and snow whitens the banks, during the Christmas and New Year period in the light The Škocjan nativity scene is lit up with thousands of lights. The writer Prežihov Voranc visited our region during his stay in Dolenjska and wrote in his famous travelogue From Mokronog to Pijana Gora: "I have walked through perhaps the most beautiful places in the world, through places that are the most beautiful in Slovenia with their blue skies and their wonderful colors."
