It's Sunday. The day after the performance in Grosuplje. A day that was no ordinary day. A day that gave us all something.
After last night's evening of enthusiasm, tears, laughter, warmth and compassion, positivity and immense support, which we experienced at the Grosuplje Cultural Center, there is a feeling that something magical has happened. Barbara Žitnik is a person who has dedicated a large part of her time in the last few months to our common goal. To show the life story of Tadeja Polanšček and inspire people to start appreciating and loving the present and fellow human beings. And this in a slightly different way - through the story Why Me. And how did she succeed. A big tribute to Barbara, who with her family, in cooperation with the Municipality of Grosuplje, opened the doors of the cultural center for us, where the Katja Dance Company team performed for the first time in its eight-year creative journey.
The television voice of experienced journalist Tadeja Anžlovar announced the evening at a high level with selected and relevant thoughts. The deputy mayor of the municipality of Grosuplje, Mr. Janez Pintar, related his welcoming speech to the importance of family and health, the two main values of life. Mrs. Vlasta Nussdorfer, the honorary patron of the show, gave us a video address and confirmed our many years of work in the field of raising awareness about vulnerable groups and marginal topics in our artistic way. The very special charm of the evening was given to us through his words by a man who connects and unites with his warmth and sincerity. Pastor Martin Golob is truly a "super star" and his words found their way to our hearts. Proceeds from the sale of tickets for the show Why I will be donated to the Let's Know Multiple Sclerosis Society, whose work and mission was presented by the president of the society, Renata Žohar.
And the performance began through pictures of life, phases and events that weaved Tadeja's life and brought him to the present day. They emphasize the importance of life and the awareness that we must appreciate every single moment and simply be a good person. And despite many difficulties, to be a role model and a pillar for others.
There was a very mixed audience in the hall, but the final act brought the entire hall to its feet and rewarded the creators of this show with an explosion of standing ovations. A lot of tears, but such genuine, emotional tears that drive a person forward and show emotional intelligence. Hugs, congratulations and encouraging words "It was one of the best performances in Grosuplje I've seen." people get carried away, and as we said at the beginning, it's really hard to stay sober. The words of Mr. Golob "I have never seen anything like this" and Mrs. Anžlovar "this should go on the big stage" are a great compliment for our modest voluntary artistic activity, to which we dedicate all our free time, energy and our own resources. We are glad that you recognized this last night and welcomed us so nicely in Grosuplje. A place we really want to return to.
On this occasion, we would especially like to thank the technical team of the cultural center, who worked with us so that the evening went according to the set scenario, for the extraordinary professionalism and friendliness, as well as Luka Puš from KD Grosuplje, who made it possible for us to host this event, and the extraordinary photographer to Peter Zakrajšek, who immortalized this extraordinary evening, and to the supporters who made it possible to have a feast in the lobby of the home, where we talked to each other and made new friendships and collaborations - Vina Kerin, Pekarna Pečjak and Sadjarska kmetija Janežič. Thank you to all our and media partners - Parada plesa, Radio Slovenia, Radio Zeleni val and Radio Ognjišče, the newspaper Dnevnik - Nedeljski dnevnik. Thank you to everyone who came. We made this evening together and now we believe even more in our wish for as many people as possible to see this show.
Sincere thanks! We will be happy to hear from you about how you experienced the show and what you want to tell people who are still deciding whether to give us their time and attention at one of the future performances.
