Months ago, this story felt almost unbelievable. Today, one week after the end of the residency, we can simply say we are profoundly honoured that the Cairo-based Premier Ballet Academy, led by Ahmed Yehia and Anja Ahčin, chose to come to our studio. For an entire week, they deepened their expertise with the guidance of extraordinary dance educators: Mohamed Youssry, who refined their classical ballet technique; Anja Ahčin, who shared her repertoire; and Miha Krušič, who captivated them with jazz.
Over the course of the week, several choreographies emerged, which were performed in front of City Hall to a wide audience—naturally earning enthusiastic applause. We’ll gladly host them again anytime, as they are true professionals devoted to dance, and we hope this collaboration and friendship continue to grow.
Katja Dance Company’s studio once again proves it can accommodate even large dance ensembles. More and more of you have left a piece of yourselves and your artistry within these walls—and we are deeply grateful for it.
