Matic Zadravec Opens a New Chapter at Our Studio

Some places are simply used for training. Others become places where stories begin.

We are excited to announce that Matic Zadravec, one of Slovenia's most recognised hip hop dancers and instructors, is bringing his dance school Plesna Šola Ljubljana and vision to our studio. For us, this is more than just a new programme. It is the beginning of a new chapter for the dance community that calls our space home.

And for dancers looking for a place to grow, create, and belong, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

When Great Dancers Look for a Home

Time and again, we are inspired by the fact that outstanding Slovenian and international artists, choreographers, and educators choose Katja Dance Company as the place where they build and develop their work.

This is no coincidence. For almost ten years, we have dedicated ourselves to creating more than just a dance studio. We have worked to build a meeting place for artists, teachers, and creators who are looking for something deeper. They are looking for a community. They are looking for professional conditions in which they can thrive. They are looking for an environment where the next generation of talent can grow.

That is why we are especially excited that Matic has chosen to develop his vision of dance education here together with his team, Sandra Rožič and Adisa Stradovnik.

Many people know him from major television stages, including the Eurovision Song Contest, where he performed in front of millions of viewers. But those who know him personally understand that his greatest strength lies in the dance studio. This is where foundations are built. This is where a curious beginner becomes a true dancer.

Hip Hop Is About So Much More Than Dance

When people hear the words Hip Hop, they often think about choreography, performances, and energetic music.

In reality, hip hop offers much more.

Dance develops coordination, discipline, confidence, and creativity. It helps build friendships, encourages personal expression, and creates a genuine sense of belonging. That is why Plesna Šola Ljubljana believes that every dancer is on their own journey and deserves the opportunity to progress at their own pace.

Their approach is based on clear goals, steady progression, and the encouragement of individual expression. One of the programme's unique features is the Starmoves Dance Levels System, which allows children and young dancers to track their development while providing a tangible sense of achievement and additional motivation.

A Programme for Everyone

Whether someone is stepping into a dance studio for the very first time or has been dancing for years, there is a place for them in the programme.

Classes are available for:

• Hip Hop Mini (ages 3–5)

• Hip Hop Kids (ages 6–9)

• Hip Hop Teens (ages 10–15)

• Hip Hop Adults (16+)

The programme places a strong emphasis on groove, rhythm, technique, musicality, freestyle, and the development of each dancer's personal style.

Open Day This Saturday

On Saturday, 26 September at 12:00, Plesna Šola Ljubljana will host an Open Day at Letališka cesta 27, Ljubljana, where visitors will have the opportunity to meet Matic and his team, learn more about the programmes, and experience their teaching approach first-hand.

Whatever your age or previous dance experience, you will be able to feel the energy of the community and discover why hip hop continues to inspire people all over the world.
