Last Saturday, May 17, 2025, our studio hosted the first Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) L1 teacher workshop in Slovenia. This high-quality workshop, designed for instructors, coaches, and dancers, provided a comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness of exercises, proper sequencing, and technique.
The PBT method is recognized worldwide as a key to success for dancers, helping them refine their technique while also preventing unnecessary injuries. Participants learned optimal muscle memory activation techniques, core stabilization, and correct body alignment.
The first PBT teacher workshop in Slovenia marks an important milestone for the Slovenian dance community, opening doors to new educational opportunities and professional growth in dance pedagogy.

The full-day workshop was led by the exceptional Regina Sofia Arenas, who, with her deep knowledge of dance and extensive experience, managed to impart valuable and highly specialized insights in just eight hours. Participants will undoubtedly apply this knowledge to both their own practice and their students.
We are extremely pleased to have hosted 18 participants from Slovenia, Austria, and Italy, creating a wonderful opportunity for new connections and friendships. Events like these not only enhance professional skills but also foster a stronger and more connected international dance community.
Regina Arenas began her dance journey at the age of 5 in Argentina, culminating in her certification as a ballet and flamenco teacher from the Institute Elina Molina Estrella in 2012. Subsequently, she passionately shared her wealth of expertise with aspiring students.
During the period from 2016 to 2018, Regina ventured into freelancing, contributing to projects such as "La Bayadere" with the Ballet Company from the Teatro Argentino de La Plata. She also served as a corps de ballet member in "Giselle" during Paloma Herrera's farewell tour. In 2017, her talent earned her a scholarship for the New York Intensive Summer Program, where she showcased her skills as a soloist in "Paquita" and a contemporary piece.
Regina's commitment to dance extended to Argentina's prominent festival, "Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia," where she participated for nine consecutive years. Additionally, she served as a ballet and contemporary dancer in the "Ballet Universidad Nacional de Cuyo" from 2016 to 2020.
In 2021, Regina took her artistry to the "Imperfect Dancers" Professional Contemporary Program in Pisa, Italy, performing pieces by renowned choreographers Walter Matteini and Ina Broeckx.
Beyond dance, Regina is a certified Pilates Mat specialist and holds accreditation as a Progressing Ballet Technique teacher, completing Levels 2 and 3 in 2022. Currently based in Berlin, she serves as an active PBT Tutor for the EU and the UK.
PBT is an innovative method based on muscle memory activation, aimed at improving core stability, proper weight distribution, and body alignment. The program, created by Marie Walton-Mahon, is designed for dance teachers, physiotherapists, yoga instructors, and other professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of body mechanics and muscle engagement.
Participants of the workshop received a PBT Level 1 certification along with detailed learning materials.
The program included muscle memory activation techniques, progressive exercises tailored to student development, and interactive learning, with the opportunity for questions and discussions with instructor Regina Arenas.
For those looking to enhance their teaching skills, expand their professional knowledge, and become part of the global PBT community, this workshop was an excellent opportunity.
We are confident that the participants have gained valuable knowledge and experience, which they can now apply to their future dance and teaching careers.
Stay tuned, as we will continue to host exciting events, and perhaps one will inspire you too! Subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on our website and social media.
